The IzoT Router supports IP-852 routing to allow the IzoT Router to be used with a new or existing IP-852 network.
To use IP-852 routing in a managed network with IzoT CT or the
LonMaker tool, add a Router shape for routing from the IP-852 channel to
the LonTalk/IP-LAN (IP-70) channel, and another Router shape from the
LAN IP-70 channel to each LON FT channel connected to the IzoT Router.
You can use the IP-852 router’s Service Pin button on the IzoT Router
System Web page to send Service messages from the IP-70 and IP-852
interfaces of the IzoT Router’s IP-852 router. You can press the IzoT
Router’s Service / Connect button to send a Service message from each
interface of each enabled router in the IzoT Router, including the
IP-852 router. To configure the IP-852 router, open the IzoT Router
Features Web page.
All of the routers
in an IzoT Router use the LAN IP-70 channel for one interface, making
the IP-70 channel a shared backbone for the routers. As a result, two
routers in the IzoT Router must be used to route from the IP-852 channel
to the FT channel. If you are using the IzoT Router in a managed
network using IzoT CT or the LonMaker tool, this requires a different
network configuration than a traditional IP-852 to FT router such as an
i.LON 600 or SmartServer IP-852 router. To replace an IP-852 to FT
router with an IzoT Router, delete the IP-852 router in the network
management tool and replace it with two routers from the IzoT Router—one
IP-852 to IP-70 router and one IP-70 to FT router.
The
following diagram illustrates an example network is shown with two
IP-852 routers (one i.LON 600 and one IzoT Router) and multiple FT
devices. The IzoT Router has two FT channels, one using the built-in LON
FT network interface and using an external U60 FT DIN Network
Interface. The dashed line box shows what is in the IzoT Router.
The
following diagrams illustrate the configuration of the IP-852
Configuration Server used for the IP-852 channel. The diagram on the
left shows the configuration of the IP-852 Configuration Server with an
IzoT Net Server or LNS Server on the same local LAN as the i.LON 600 and
IzoT Router. The diagram on the right shows the configuration of the
IP-852 Configuration Server with the IzoT Net Server or LNS Server on
the same LAN as the IP-852 Configuration Server, and the i.LON 600 and
IzoT Router on remote LANs behind NAT routers.
